                    Bio

Adam J. Bernay grew up in a family that was active in the Hebrew Christian/Jews for Jesus movement within mainstream Christianity until the age of 13, when his parents co-founded the first Messianic congregation in Central California, along with two other couples.  He has been involved in the Messianic community ever since.  Adam first felt the call to ministry at the age of six, receiving a vision from God that he would become a pastor and a farmer, with a church in the middle of the farm, so anyone who needed food could come and receive it for free.  (He has since realized that this was metaphorical for being a Messianic Rabbi and feeding the people on the fringes with both food and God's love.)  He graduated from California State University Fresno in December of 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, and the Messianic Bible Institute with a degree in Rabbinical Studies in March 2005.  Along with his parents and a small group of friends from a Messianic Bible study in Clovis, he co-founded Beit Tefillah Messianic Fellowship in May of 2004 and was ordained a Messianic Rabbi at the founding convention of the Coalition of Torah Observant Messianic Congregations (CTOMC) in July of 2006.  He serves as CTOMC's Director of Youth, Education & Singles (YES) Ministries.  He has worked on and off for the past 10 years in local radio, currently working as a backup board operator for KRDU Radio, on which he also hosts a show, "Beyond Salvation," named for his book, "Beyond Salvation: Why Believers in Jesus Should Keep the Torah," which he published in 2007.  (You can download a free PDF copy on the Teachings Page under the Resources tab on this website and purchase a print version here.)  He is also studying for a Masters in Marriage, Family, & Child Counseling at the Fresno Pacific University Seminary.
